Old Hall Ely Wedding | Jessica & Gavin
There are so many things to love about an Old Hall Ely Wedding, particularly the stunning views over the fens. You can see Ely Cathedral in the distance and during the Summer the sunsets are out of this world.
Jess and Gavin married here in January, a rather chilly Saturday in January. When i arrived the girls were all in the bridal suite having hair and make-up done. Everything became very real when it was time for Jess to put the veil on and one or two tears were shed.
I was struggling with a winter cold but so was one of the Bridesmaids. It was great to have a coughing companion to share the cough sweets with.
The ceremony was held inside and Gavin waited with his Best Man Marc for the doors to open and Jess to walk in. Emotions were over whelming and a few more tears were shed, this time from Gavin, and rightly so, Jess looked amazing in her Dress.
Drinks were served in the bar and then with light fading and the temperature dropping we headed outside for some family photographs and then time alone with the newlyweds. We were treated to a beautiful winter sunset.
The marquee at the Old Hall is wonderful and has a gorgeous metal Chandelier hanging in the center. This looks particularly fabulous at night when the lights are one and a warm glow caresses everyone.
Speeches were given by Jess’s father, Gavin and Best Man Marc and were the usual mix of pride, love, emotion mixed with a smidge of mickey taking.
I think Jess smiled the whole day long and the look on her face during their first dance as husband and wife shows the love shared between this wonderful couple. It was my absolute honour to be a part of your day. Thank you for sharing it with me.
