ONE: Everything is in one place.

Get rid of the stress of moving from home or hotel to the wedding ceremony and then reception by getting ready in the most amazing Bedroom and dressing room.  There is a spacious bedroom and dressing room upstairs decorated in calming cream and gold tones with plenty of space for you to enjoy getting ready for your wedding party during the morning.  Holmewood Hall has one of the biggest getting-ready rooms that I know of in a wedding venue. The dressing room is just off the side of the bedroom meaning that you can keep the dressing area tidy and bag free, enjoying the space when it’s time to get your outfit on.

TOP TIP – Try and keep the dressing area free from bags, clothes and clutter.  Your getting ready photos will be so much nicer if this area is a tidy space.  Who wants a supermarket bag in the background?

TWO. Ceremony – Inside or outside.

Your ceremony can be held in the beautiful Gold Room, where you can really make a statement with the 50-ft long aisle. On sunnier, warmer days there is the option of having an outdoor wedding ceremony in the Bandstand with Holmewood Hall as the stunning backdrop.

TOP TIP – Reuse your ceremony flowers in the dining room as decorations and your bouquet and Bridesmaids’ flowers (if having them) as table centrepieces.

THREE. Where to have photos.

I love to use the steps by the croquet lawn for group photos.  This means we can get some height on the photos when there are lots of people. Guests can mingle on the lawn, and sit on the terrace and everyone gets to enjoy the beautiful surroundings.  A large group photo can be taken on the lawn either to the back or front of the hall as I have a great vantage point from the balcony or bedroom window.  Couples photos…. oh where to start, there are so many amazing places around the grounds of Holmewood Hall, with 10 acres, you will be spoilt for choice.

TOP TIP – There are loads of areas to use when the sun sets for your couple’s pictures too!

FOUR. Accommodation.

There is a wonderful movement of everyone getting together the morning after the wedding. At Holmewood Hall your guests can say in one of the many beautiful and luxurious bedrooms and not worry about leaving before the party is over.

TOP TIP – Keep the celebration going by having breakfast the next morning with everyone staying over

FIVE. Dance Dance Dance.

Having your first dance at the base of the stunning wooden staircase while your guests look down and watch you twirl is so magical.  You can even have a confetti throw halfway through.

TOP TIP – If doing your first dance makes you shiver with nerves then start your dance with just the two of you and then at a point during the song ask your wedding party and parents to join you on the dance floor.  This will give you some moral support but won’t pack the dance floor too heavily giving your photographer a chance to get some great images of your first dance together.
