THE
COUPLES
SHOOT

SO WHAT IS IT?
Couple shoots, Engagement shoots, pre-wedding sessions, … there are so many different names for these couple sessions. Whatever you want to call it, they all pretty much describe exactly what it is.
It’s a great excuse to show off your engagement and the perfect way to practice having your photo taken together before the big day, but it’s primarily a time to capture your love for each other!
I always think, in this digital age, the majority of couples have lots and lots of selfies together, which is great! But do you frame a selfie? Unlikely!
My main goal during these sessions is to get you to RELAX and create gorgeous artwork which you’d happily frame and put up around your home. I want you to be proud of your love for each other, being in love is amazing!

QUESTIONS –
ANSWERED
We’re so awkward having our photograph taken!
One of the best things about your couple session is that it shouldn’t feel stuffy and awkward. It should feel like hanging out with an old friend, messing around and having fun. I don’t like stiff poses and I’m not a photographer who will put you in an exact pose which you must stay in.
The way I work is, I give you both prompts to interact with each other. I’ll ask you questions, get to tell each other your favourite moment together, ask you to whisper silly things in a funny accent to each other. All this creates a natural, authentic emotion which I’ll aim to capture. It’s super easy and hopefully super fun!
When do we do it?
To answer this, you’ll need to consider the time of year you’d like your shoot to be. If you’re getting married in the summer maybe you’d like a winter engagement shoot for some contrast. Think cosy blankets, hot chocolates and sparklers! All my sessions will take place on a weekday. You guys nearly always get married at weekends, so that’s where you will find me.
If it’s a sunny day I always aim to shoot in the golden hour if we can. This means starting around two hours before sunset is due. You can book your engagement shoot as soon as you book me, or as late as the week before your actual wedding.
Where do we go?
I suggest somewhere which means something to you both personally, this could be a local park, the place you got engaged or where you had your first date. You can even choose to have it at your wedding venue! Ideally, this will take place within 25 miles of PE26, but if you want somewhere, in particular, we can discuss travel expenses. Don’t worry, I have plenty of ideas if you get stuck!
Who can come?
If you have young children or a pet I completely understand you will want to bring them with you on your couple shoot. Pets and children are always welcome, but I recommend bringing another guardian to entertain them whilst we focus on you two together.
Can we do something quirky?
Oh yes! If you want to bring multi-coloured smoke bombs, have it in a monkey enclosure, get in the sea, fly to Paris and shoot under the Eiffel Tower or anything else you can think of just pop me a message and let’s get it organised!
But I’m not getting married?
That’s ok. You don’t have to be getting married to book in a couple session with me, all I ask is that you’re totally in love. You can be already married, not married yet or hoping to marry soon!
Although if you are getting married, you can use your couple session photographs for your wedding stationery, table names, invites or save the dates! Click here to see my Family & Portrait session information
How do I get the photographs?
You will receive your session photographs in an online gallery ready for you to download and share to your heart’s content.
I also offer a gorgeous guest book album to show off your engagement photographs next to the good wishes of your friends and family at your wedding. Or how about a signing frame to display.
What to wear?
Whatever you wear…….. be comfortable. Make sure your outfit is suitable for the surroundings you are in. As much as I would love to photograph you in a full-on ball gown and dinner suit in the middle of a forest, it perhaps isn’t the photo you want on the wall. But if it is, let’s do it!
Get some ideas here for what to wear.
What is the cost?
A couples session costs £450. It lasts around an hour or so and you will receive 10 digital images from your session (worth £450). There will be more in your online gallery which you can purchase from or buy the whole gallery if you love them all. I hope that you do love them all.
The costs include my time and travel to the location within 25 miles of PE26 2LH but does not include any entrance fees if the location requires payment.
If you want to have your couples session further afield then travel costs will be incurred

If you have booked my Fine Art Wedding Collection, then your couples session will be included. You can add on a Couples session to any of the other Collections.

There is no better way to display your favourite photo than in a huge frame on the wall. A signing frame will give you the opportunity to show everyone your most loved photo and give your guests a chance to leave their love and best wishes on your wedding day.
A signing frame is included in your couples session when you select the Fine Art Collection.
