Wedding Photographer of the Year 2017 – Runner Up Liz Greenhalgh Photography

On Saturday the 4th February The Guild of Photographers held their annual awards dinner at the magnificent Crewe Hall.  This year I was unable to attend but I did keep up with all the announcements via a very lively Facebook feed.  Some members who couldn’t be there were, I am sure, sat on the edge of their seats with a glass of something to steady the nerves. I didn’t know that I would be included in Wedding Photographer of the Year.

For those of you who know me know that I entered the Guild of Photographers Image of the Month competition.  Not only did I enter in the Wedding Category but occasionally some of the other portraits and family sessions that I have had the pleasure of photographing.

A bit of Information

All the images that are entered are scored and graded and those points all add up. At the end of the year those lucky enough win a place in the Top Ten.  This is an amazing achievement for anyone entering as the Wedding category is one of the hardest to score in.

Drum Roll

As the evening unfolded the categories were announced and the Wedding Photographer of the Year was next.  Up on the screen popped Runner Up Liz Greenhalgh…………………. Oh my, I was speechless, I couldn’t believe it. I had hoped for a place in the top ten as my images over the year had scored consistent awards but Runner Up!

I absolutely adore what I do, being a part of people’s amazing days is privilege. So I want to say Thank You to everyone of you who has been by my side during my journey to where I am now. To all my couples who believed in me and let me do my thing to create everlasting memories for them.  Also The Guild of Photographers and the panel of Judges. My friends who have picked me up when things have gone off the rails, poured the coffee or the gin and pushed me to carry on.  These two small words don’t look much but mean everything.

Here are the Images that I entered during 2017. Enjoy

2017 was an amazing year, 2018 is shaping up to be the same. If you are planning a wedding for 2019 or 2020 then i’d love to hear all about you. You never know you could be part of the next winning images. Get in touch by clicking here
