The Thatched Barn Autumn Wedding – Dawn & Ian
The Thatched Barn Yelling Autumn Wedding - Dawn & Ian
I've photographed a few weddings at The Thatched Barn in Yelling and they have all been at different times of the years. Dawn and Ians Autumn wedding had a Boho styling, just perfect for all the rich warm colours that Autumn fills us with.
Dawns dress and flowers complimented the Rustic and relaxed style of the barn. I love the fact that silk ribbons on bouquests have made a come back.
How lucky is Dawn? Not only did Dad provide the wedding transport, and drive it. Her and Ian had two cars on the day. A wonderful sporty softtop to drive to Church and a more windproof one to travel over to the reception.
Family and friends enjoyed celebrating inside and outside the barn while Truly Romantic sang and boy can she sing!
In their own words
Where you first meet
We meet on match.com roughly 3 years ago.
Who asked who and how
Ian wanted to take me away for my birthday as a surprise to Norfolk as it was our favourite place to visit. He had booked this gorgeous hotel and apparently asked for the biggest room in the hotel. As I was getting ready because we were off to Sandringham that day, he asked me to come into the bedroom and their he was, down on one knee with this gorgeous ring in this beautiful ring box and said will you do me the honour!?
Wedding planning, good, bad and fabulous
I’m not going to lie, the wedding planning was stressful, but we were very lucky to be able to have all the suppliers we wanted! I think the most stressful part of the planning was the invites with not everyone replying and having to chase people up. But overall, we did enjoy it and it was good.
How was day through your eyes?
Absolutely amazing! Better then we could have imagined. Everything just fell into place and we couldn’t get over how lucky we were with the weather!
What was your favourite part of the day
We would probably have to say all of it! We loved every minute.
Any tips you learnt along the way which may be useful for other brides
Try not to get too stressed, everything will fall into place on the day. You’re not going to please everyone so just please yourself because it’s your wedding. We also learnt that you know who your true friends are along the way and there will always be drama even if you try and avoid it.
