The Thatch Barn Yelling | Lizzie & Shaun
A wedding at Thatch Barn Yelling is always a wonderful occasion. Set in a leafy village just outside Cambridge and close to many towns, it is perfect for your special day. That’s why Lizzie and Shaun chose it for their reception venue.
I didn’t recognise Lizzie when she arrived home from the Hairdresser, she looked stunning. The last time I had seen her we were walking through fields on their pre-wedding session, she looked very different today. Her make-up was elegant with a vintage touch and complimented her dress fabulously.
As part of her traditional Something Old, Something New, Lizzie wore the necklace her Grandfather gave to her Grandmother on their wedding day. What a beautiful thing to do and to still have the box it came in, so touching and one or two tears may have been shed.
Shaun was waiting at Barrington Church which stands majestically on the hill in the village of Barrington Cambridge. This gave a great view point to see Lizzie arrive in her Step Father’s own Vintage car. After a moments contemplation it was time to get married.
After the ceremony, a few photos outside the church and nearly losing the veil in a gust of wind, we headed to the Thatch Barn. The Manor House next to the barn was looking particularly pretty with all the Spring daffodils in bloom, so we took a moment to get photos of the new Mr & Mrs.
Daffodils were growing in one of the fields along the lane from the Barn so we headed up there and had some fun. How many times do you get to wear wellies in a wedding dress and throw daffodils in the air?
After the first dance the evening carried on with a Ceilidh and huge smiles on everyone’s face.
