TIPS TO SMASH A MATERNITY SESSION

TIPS TO SMASH A MATERNITY SESSION

Pregnancy is wonderful, you are bringing a new life into the world. It can be tough on you especially in the summer months as you carry around your internal hot water bottle. Let’s celebrate this amazing time in your life with a Maternity Session and catch these memories.

I love outdoor maternity photo sessions, there is something just right about being outside and with nature, I guess it is the barefoot and pregnant thing. If you want something more intimate and bare bump then a studio session might be what you are looking for.

  • The best time for your maternity session is between 32-36 weeks. Baby bump is lovely and round by then.

  • Get your hair done, even light make-up and your nails, but keep them a natural colour if you can.

  • Not sure what to wear, don’t worry I can guide you with your choices. I love the body-hugging or loose and floaty.  Think about your location though if we are in the woods perhaps that green summer dress might not work, We can look at colours that compliment you and the surroundings.  Maxi dresses are wonderful. comfortable and flattering. Solid colours often work best as this makes bump stand out better.  Textures work great too, think of chunky woollen knits or delicate lace layers. We can even talk about bare bump shots too, studio or outdoors.

  • Bring your partner with you and other children if you already have them. Let them be part of the memory-making too.

  • Don’t stress about posing. I am here to guide you on where to stand in the best light and what to do with your hands.

  • Bring some sentimental items if you want to. Perhaps these photos are going to be your pregnancy announcement

  • Share any ideas with me, I want these photos to be loved by you.

  • Enjoy yourself. We will have fun, I promise

Studio Maternity Session

If you want to have a session that shows more skin and your baby bump in all its wonderful roundness then coming to the Studio may be for you.  I have a selection of maternity gowns that you are welcome to use.  If you have some ideas of your own then let’s chat and see what we can do.  Again think of gorgeous floaty fabrics that we can drape, like your wedding veil, snug-fitting dresses, your other halves shirt can look amazing and soft snuggly knitwear will look fabulous.
