South Farm Winter Wedding – Lyanne & Aaron

Lyanne & Aaron

South Farm Winter Wedding

What a way to end the year by having a Christmas wedding at the amazing South Farm.  This is a venue that looks amazing whatever the season.

Lyanne and the girls were in the Bridal suite with hair and makeup in full swing. Aaron, his brother and Dad were just across the courtyard. That’s one of the great things about everything in one place, it makes nipping between everyone so much easier.

With the ceremony in the Old Dairy complete, it wasn’t long before we headed out into the winter sunshine for confetti and family photos.  Now the family photos were even more special as Maple their oh so adorable dog came along to celebrate.

Winter weddings benefit from the most glorious soft light during the day, the downside is there isn’t much of it and we have to move quickly. With photos done it was time to head inside for the wedding breakfast and the highly anticipated speeches.

I often say that if you can get a photographer to laugh, or cry, during the speeches then you have done well. Oh I laughed, particularly when out came a prop box and face masks. The largest being a Storm Trooper worn by Lyanne’s Dad. Who else can say they had the cast of Star Wars at their wedding?

Congratulations guys, what a wonderful day. Thank you for letting me be a part of it xx

In their own words

Where did you first meet?

In our local pub through friends.

Who popped the question and how?

Aaron. On Xmas day at my parents.

Wedding planning, the good, bad and fabulous

Pretty much all good. The favours took a lot of trial and error!!! And getting the bridesmaid dresses were hard to find!!

How was day through your eyes?

Perfect!! A bit cold but all went as planned, everyone had a great time, all went as we wanted!!

What was your favourite part of the day

The speeches.

Any tips you learnt along the way which may be useful for other brides or what would you change?

Don’t worry about the small things. No one else knows what you “planned to do” but didn’t have time. Be selfish, it’s your day and you’ll only do it once. Pick people that will make you feel relaxed when getting ready, e.g hair, makeup, photographer.

Who were your suppliers?

Clare Jones – florist, the dress was from Gowns and Garters, Essence Australia. Makeup was Flash Kate. Hair – Emily Warner. Cake – Nicole Ricon. Bridesmaid dresses made by Alterations by Nina.
