Northampton Wedding Photographer | Amy & Matt | Dodford Manor

Dodford Manor Barn Wedding Venue is a stunning barn wedding venue set within a beautiful country estate nestled amidst miles of rolling Northamptonshire countryside. So what’s not to love!  Add into the mix wonderful sunshine, good friends, great food – I will come back to this one, fun garden games and your own fur baby, then you have got the recipe that was Amy and Matt’s May Northampton wedding.

Both Amy and Matt got ready and a local hotel before heading to Dodford Manor for the ceremony and reception. Now wedding mornings sometimes have a hint of excitement, nerves and slight panic over making sure everything runs smoothly.  Throw into the mix missing Best Man’s trousers and a dash around the County to find some.

The rest of the day ran smoothly. Friends gathered for the ceremony to take place and guest of honour, Monty had a prime position to see his mummy and daddy tie the knot.

There was such an element of fun for the whole day. Garden games were played by everyone, some a little more creative than others. During the meal, one person from each table was handed an apron and hat and given the all-important task of carving and serving dinner for the rest of the table. I’m sure the Chef from the Muppet’s made an appearance at one point.

AFter sunsetting photos and first dance, everyone headed outside for a sparkler send off. It looked so beautiful with the sky setting blue.

Thanks for sharing your fun, warm and wonderful wedding day with me and my 2nd Photographer Roxy. We had a fabulous day.

In their own words

Where did you first meet?

In Bournemouth at University

Who asked who and how?

Matt asked me at the top of a massive hill called Ballard Down in Dorset at sunset. We walk their frequently as we spend a lot of time in Dorset.

Wedding planning, good, bad and fabulous?

It’s very stressful trying to do everything yourself, and time-consuming but it’s worth it when it all comes together.

How was day through your eyes?

It was busy and tiring but fun.

What was your favourite part of the day?

Having everyone we know and love there, and I was so thankful the weather was good so we could be outside for the reception. Having Monty there was great, but we didn’t get to see much of him because he was busy doing the rounds lol

Any tips you learnt along the way which may be useful for other brides

Just try and enjoy it and don’t lose sight of the vision you have and what you want it to be when you’re planning it. People will let you down along the way but don’t forget what it’s really about and don’t dwell on the bad things just focus on the good and try to relax.
