Newmarket Wedding Photographer | Bedford Lodge Hotel Newmarket l Amber & Andrew

Bedford Lodge Hotel Newmarket shone in the sunshine for Amber and Andrew’s late May wedding.  Being a Newmarket Wedding Photographer, I know how important it is for people to have a lovely sunny day for their wedding. Well, today we got it.

The girls were tucked away in one of the suites having hair and makeup done, with the perfect view over the car park and sneaky peeks of the guys. Andrew and the boys had a slightly smaller room the other end of the hotel where last-minute shoe cleaning and YouTube videos on how to fold a pocket square were happening.

A wedding morning soon flies by and it wasn’t long before the dress was on and Andrew was there waiting for Amber to take those steps into the room. He couldn’t wait to see her and emotions soon took over.

Mingling in the garden and soaking up the sunshine was the order of the day once the couple appeared through a shower of confetti. Group photos are often a time for fun and jokes and one of the Stag do jokes made an appearance.

The speeches came after dinner and were a wonderful mixture of laughs and sentiment, humour and embarrassment.

Talking of embarrassment….. a certain Best Man had an incident on the dance floor with his trousers!

Thank you for letting me be a part of your gorgeous day. Congratulations to you both xx

In their own words

Where you first meet

We met at work, whilst Amber was on her gap year before university and Andrew had just finished university in 2009.

Who asked who and how?

Andrew took Amber away to New York and carried the engagement ring around in his bag for 2 days until the right moment arose. Andrew got down on one knee by the Bethesda fountain in central park, and Amber said: “of course!”

Wedding planning, good, bad and fabulous

Amber had most things under control and planning early allowed things to go pretty smoothly! Apart from losing a name card the day before the weekend, things were pretty stress free!

How was day through your eyes?

We both had such an amazing day surrounded by all our family and friends. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves which could be seen by our nonstop smiles! It was so lovely to see all our hard work come together and the sun shining made it even more perfect!

What was your favourite part of the day?

Andrew’s favourite part of the day was seeing his soon to be wife appear and Amber’s was seeing his emotional reaction!

Any tips you learnt along the way which may be useful for other brides

Try not to stress about the little details and ensure you make time for you and your new husband on the day! Also, be prepared for how quick the day will go, so enjoy every moment!
