2020 the year of the Micro Wedding

Well, 2020 what can I say!  You have truly been a rollercoaster of a year.  You started well ambling along and then boom, plummeted full force with everyone’s hands in the air not knowing if you were turning left, right or zooming back up to the sky.  To be honest the rest of the year kind of followed the same track.  I started the year with 38 weddings in my calendar and finished the year by photographing just 6 and the term Micro wedding was born.

I say Just 6 but all 6 were the same, Love filled.  Two gorgeous weddings were before the dreaded C word hit.  One right on the cusp of the initial lockdown when we were all scrabbling about to find hand sanitiser. For a while, it seemed like every time I opened my email couples were contacting me about changing their wedding date.  My heart went out to you all that saw your careful plans suddenly stop and be held in limbo.  Some of you having to change your plans two or three times by the end of the year.

The other four weddings were I guess the new term of Micro Wedding or Covid wedding.  One most definitely a micro wedding with just four people there.  That’s still not the smallest wedding I have photographed.  An elopement a couple of years ago was the smallest, but then you can’t get smaller than two!

Actually, I photographed a grand total of 9 weddings.  I second shot with two friends of mine which I love to do occasionally.
