The Talbot Hotel Oundle | Heather & Martin

The Talbot Hotel Oundle is the perfect setting for a wedding. Add in that the Bride is a Wedding Cake maker and I am her friend and Wedding Photographer, it gives you the ingredients for the perfect wedding.

Lush Gold and rich blues were the colour theme of the day. Heather makes other peoples wedding cakes and they are just fabulous so I just knew hers would be magnificent. She really is talented and hand makes all the details. You can see more of her work here

Heather’s son Roan was with the Groom Martin when I arrived, all ready in their matching suits. I think the nerves were kicking in slightly. Roan was not only walking his mum down the aisle, keeper of the rings but he was doing a reading during the ceremony too. Which he did brilliantly.

Both Heather and Martin love music so as you can imagine, music played a big part of the day. Diamonds and Pearls by Prince was played as Heather accompanied by Roan and Martin walked down the aisle to greet friends and family.

We were lucky with the weather. A chilly February day but with glorious blue skies, perfect for finding great spots around Oundle for some photographs and narrowly being run over by a bus outside the hotel. Well it is all part of the job.

Being a friend and not just a photographer, I got to stay and party oh and dress up more than I usually would. I’m not sure the camera got completely packed away but I certainly enjoyed my time on the dance floor.
