Cambridge Wedding Photographer | Chippenham Park

Chippenham Park is a privately-owned Grade II listed house, surrounded by 300 acres of Parkland and Gardens perfect for your photographs and within easy reach of Cambridge and London. It’s located on the Suffolk-Cambridgeshire border near Ely and Newmarket. Norwich, Ipswich and Bury St Edmunds are all easily accessible, making it easy for your guests to reach. But secluded and peaceful enough to give you a truly magical wedding day.

I met Katie and Liam literally 6 weeks before their wedding day. A change of plans meant it was a last minute booking for me and I loved being part of this wonderful day of smiles and surprises.More about that later!

Katie and her gang of Bridesmaids were busy with hair and make up preparations when I arrived, lots of giggles cold be heard in the corridoor leading to the Bridal suite. Bridal preparations are one of my favourite moments of the day. The Grooms preparations are usually, but not always a bit more sedate.

Being a Cambridge wedding photographer I get to see lots of venues and Chippenham Park has without doubt, the longest walk for a Bride to her Groom that I know of, when you choose to get maried outside by the lake. Now this isn’t a bad thing, it’s actually rather beautiful as the Bride appears through the trees and the meadow heading towards her Groom and married life.

Back to the surprise. I had been asked to make sure that all the guests were in a certain place at a certain time and to look in a certain place. I managed this, kind of……… I got everyone there a little too early but it was worth the wait. In the distance a fain roar of an engine could be heard and it got louder. As it apporached Chippenham Park there was an aerial display with smoke just for Katie and Liam. The final display was a heart.
