Poets House Hotel Ely | Caroline & Andy

I’m so pleased to be sharing some of the images from Caroline and Andy’s June wedding at Poets House Hotel Ely, Cambridgeshire. There is something rather special about a wedding for a couple that have been together for many years as Caroline and Andy have, especially when their son and daughter Lilly and Ben are also playing important roles as best man and chief bridesmaid.

Caroline had the help of her close friend Dawn in the morning, when she got dressed in her stunning dress from Honey’s Bridal in St Ives, and throughout the day. Andy also had the support of a friend, Mark, who was also best man alongside Ben.

The wedding had a theme of vintage elegance with a little musical influence thrown in and Caroline did fantastic job of making all the decorations, she has a streak of perfectionism and spared no attention to detail. The beautiful flowers complemented the theme perfectly and were supplied by Flowers by Penny.

Although the weather was mixed it stopped for long enough for Caroline to get into the lovely church in Warboys. The ceremony was just full of love and emotion and by the time everyone had left the church the heavy downpours had stopped and the sun was shining! A wonderful vintage bus from Dews Coaches transported the guests to the Poets House Hotel in Ely where the rest of the celebrations were taking place. This was a perfect touch and one that I really loved.  My Dad used to drive this bus many years ago

In between there was a romantic detour to the grounds of Ely Cathedral for some additional photographs, a very special location since this was where Andy proposed to Caroline.

You went above and beyond your role from saving the brides shoe in the grate, rubbing make up off the grooms suit, dealing with inappropriate people …not to mention keeping us sane!
