I just adore a Longstowe Hall Wedding. When i show people weddings I have photographed here before, they all say Wow! where is that?
On a sunny Spring Day in April Chloe & David married in front of each other at Waresley Church. Chloe got ready in the morning with her Bridesmaids at Fullers Hill Cottages, wonderful converted stables at a local farm not far from the Church and Longstowe Hall.
The morning was wonderfully relaxed, often wedding mornings can be a little hectic, not today. The beautiful flowers arrived and I think it hit Chloe that everything was really happening and she had a little teary moment. All the nerves i think subsided when Dad arrived late to take her to Church. But it’s tradition for the Bride to be late isn’t it.
Sometimes at weddings, we can photograph from anywhere in the Church and sometimes we can’t. Today was one of those where the Vicar asked that any photographs be taken from the back of the Church only. This makes me a little sad as you miss that moment when the groom sees his bride for the first time and the bride sees her groom, but we always respect the wishes of those conducting the ceremony.
We had a short detour from the church to Longstowe Hall to find a field of oil seed rape that we could use. Now living in the countryside, you would think it would be easy to find……… not today, but not to be defeated we found one.
Spring colours and flowers were an important part of the day. The marquee at Longstowe Hall where the wedding breakfast was being held was decorated with overflowing branches of Apple Blossom and looked magnificent.
After the wedding breakfast the speeches started and were a great mix of tender moments and memories and embarrassing anecdotes, well that’s the role of the Best Man isn’t it.
During the first dance I took a photo of David and Chloe in an embrace and I think this is my favourite first dance photo of the year. It sums up the love between these two wonderful people completely.
