Cambridge Wedding Photographer | The Poets House Hotel Ely

Poets House is a charming hotel in the heart of historic Ely, perfect for weddings and has enviable views over to the Cathedral. Francesca was getting ready here in the morning with her family. It was lovely to see and work with wonderful maku up artists and haridresser. FlashKate and Bex Thairapy.

It was such a lovely relaxed morning and I even managed to get some baby cuddles from the youngest guest of the day. Fran opted for a short dress with a pretty lace overlay. It was so pretty hanging in the morning light. I knew it was going to look wonderful on. Her flowers were from Wild Frost and were delicate white and gree foliage. Green being the colour for the day. They looked wonderful and smelt it too.

Jonathan met me at Cambridge where the couple were getting married at St Andrew’s Church, Chesterton. There were many guests dressed in fabulous colourful jacketss for the celebrations, a throwback to Uni days. The Bridesmaids looked fab in their emerald green vintage style dresses and warm fur jackets. These were much appreciated in the cold November air. After the ceremony the couple were covered in white confetti, which looked just like a cascade of snowflakes. Perfect for this winter wedding.

It was back to Poets House for the reception and celebrations and a little time to explore for some photographs. The formal speeches were actually quite informal with Francescas Mother standing to greet everyone and welcoming them to this wonderful day of celebrations.

Are you even at a wedding if there isn’t crazy friend dancing? These guys did not disapoint as friendship groups gathered together to celebrate with the newly married couple. I do love crazy dancing and of course the odd selfie-taking photo opportunity.
