Wet Winter Wedding – Kayleigh & Andrew
I first met a very shy Kayleigh when she was a Bridesmaid at another Wedding I was photographing. She was adamant that she hated having her photo taken and really wasn’t looking forward to photos at her own Church Wedding. But i think she absolutley rocked it!
Kayleigh and Andrew had a Church Wedding in Sawtry, where they both live and where i met Kayleigh in the morning. A very relaxed and chilled morning, with only the bird creating as he was hungry and being ignored, bless him, he wasn’t keen on the camera either.
I always come prepared with umbrellas at weddings and thought that we would get away without using them but no, literally 20 minutes before leaving the sky became dark and moody and it started to pour. Cue the umbrellas.
Kayleigh arrived at Sawtry Church under the glow of a stunning rainbow behind the Church, now how lucky is that.
A few photos of family and the obligatory confetti photos, which I love and everyone headed to Buckden Village Hall for Afternoon Tea, Speeches and to dance the night away.
Congratulations to you both
In their own words
Where you first meet
We met online and out first date was at Brampton Mill
Who asked who and how
There was no proposal as such. Andrew didn’t want the pressure of picking a ring without me and we knew we were going to get married. I don’t think there was ever any need for a question!
Wedding planning, good, bad and fabulous
Bad – worrying about other people’s expectations is exhausting, even though you’re told it is all about what you both want it is never that simple Good – just amazing how much help people are willing to offer Fabulous – everything actually came together, and we didn’t go over budget!
How was day through your eyes?
The day was great, my toes are till numb and it has now been weeks! I managed to get through the day without crying and Andrew relaxed enough to dance so all in all it went really well.
What was your favourite part of the day
Looking across the room, seeing everyone for all the different parts of our lives chatting and sharing scones. The realisation that everyone is there to love and support you both is just so overwhelming.
Any tips you learnt along the way which may be useful for other brides
The day is about being happy and the best thing I did was surround myself with people who make me happy, from the people in my bridal party to the suppliers I used on the day. To be able to let go of control of the day and trust those around me was great because I could enjoy it.
