Sheene Mill – Tracy & Chris
Tracy & Chris
Sheene Mill Wedding
Friday 20th March was the day I photographed my last wedding at Sheene Mill before the whole country went crazy. Just a couple of days later we were in lockdown. No weddings, no visiting, the advice was Stay at Home. Thankfully Tracy and Chris managed to go out with a bang. Not one but two celebrations, a wedding and a 40th Birthday! If you are going to do it then do it big, right!
The whole day felt in some ways odd and in many ways fabulous. Two people in love were getting married and that’s all that really mattered. There were some guests missing but the rest were having a wonderful day.
A very chilled morning getting ready led into the official ceremony. Chris had a few nervous lip bites during the proceedings but both were grinning ear to ear when the words, I now pronounce you husband and wife were said.
Now it was time to celebrate, say hello to friends and family and enjoy the whole day. The speeches were a great mix of emotion, fun, laughter and love and led into the evening. A birthday celebration started a night of dancing and drinking.
Congratulations guys. Wishing you a lifetime of love and happiness xx
Where did you first meet each other?
In my A&E department where I was the Senior Sister in charge for the night shift and Chris brought me in a drunk patient, we met at his handover to me and he got a friend t get me number later on in the night shift about 5 am.
Who popped the question and how?
On Chris’ 40th birthday in our hotel in Dubai where I had organised a birthday cake, he then told me there was one more both day surprise after a day of many surprises for Chris he surprised me by proposing.
How did you choose your venue?
We fell in love with the quaintness and the lake with a swan. Also, the venue had many rooms like a snug so the older guests could get away from the band in the evening.
Wedding planning? Tell me the good, bad and fabulous
It was all amazing and so much fun until coronavirus happened and we had to make so many last-minute changes including throwing the seating plan out the window!! This was a crazy week that no-one could have prepared us for.
What was your favourite part of the day
Seeing Chris at the alter and then both of us say the favourite part was saying our vows after the very difficult build-up with Coronavirus braking that week
Any tips you learnt along the way which may be useful for other brides or what would you change?
Use guides for brides as your wedding planner as it tells you what to do and when and reminded me of a few things I had forgotten, as well as finding local suppliers to your venue. This was really helpful as we really wanted to use local people.
Who were your suppliers? Like your Florist/Flowers, Dress (Shop & Designer), Hair, Make-up, Suit, Car/Transport, Wedding Cake, DJ/Entertainment, Venue Stylist
Flowers Anne from firstname.lastname@example.org Hair and make up was Holly at Carter hair wedding cake was Jade from bitesizebakehouse.com, the dress was from Stella Yorke based in New York but the shops were WeddingFrox in Dorking Surrey. Suits came from Moss Bros, the venue was Sheene Mill and our planner was the brilliant Charlotte and our band was Agent Joe.
Best day of our Lives!! and wouldn’t have been possible without all the amazing people listed above, our photographers Liz and Rob and our families.
