Peterborough Wedding Photographer | David & Janice | Sibson Inn

Being a Peterborough Wedding Photographer, it really is lovely to photograph a wedding so close to home at Sibson Inn. David and Janice live in the small village of Holme, not far from the City. One of the most well know residents is Warwick Davis from the Star Wars films. Holme village has a gorgeous little church in the centre of the village, just around the corner from Holmewood Hall. The Church was looking fabulous with the flower arch at the entrance and fresh flowers adorning the pew ends.

Janice got ready at home with the girls and was extremely relaxed about the whole day. A tinge of sadness came over everyone as all of a sudden the sky darkened and a Hail storm began. This wasn’t planned!  By the time Janice was ready to leave the sun was shining and everyone was smiling.

Guest congregated outside of the Church as David arrived with his cousin and Best Woman. After a few quick hello’s everyon entered the Church for Janice’s arrival. Greeted by the vicar who was conducting the ceremony everyone headed to the Church door and the walk down the aisle.

There was time for some family photos outside the church before heading to Sibson Inn. The sun shone and the ground glistened from the earlier rain shower and guests were happy to mingle in the gardens with the children playing games from Dolly’s Vintage Tea Party.

Afternoon Tea was served and everyone was entertained by a Rat Pack singer. The whole day was so relaxed and everyone enjoyed chatting and the relaxed feel.

Congratulations to you both.

In Their Own Words

Where did you first meet?

We went to the same secondary school. Later Janice lived near David’s mum and used to visit her. When David’s mum went into care, he would go to see Janice to keep her updated about his mum and they became good friends.

Who popped the question and how?

We had both independently been thinking we would like to be married after living together for about a year. Janice got in first, popping the question during a chat we were having at home. David quickly said yes.

Wedding planning, the good, bad and fabulous

Good was deciding what we wanted the day to be like and deciding on a vintage tea party. Also we have very similar tastes so there were no problems agreeing what we wanted. Nothing bad really happened it all went very smoothly. Fabulous to be able to involve family so much. Wedding cake, flowers, bridal party, best lady, Janice’s brother to give her away. All of which made our day more special.

How was day through your eyes?

Perfect. It was everything we wanted and had planned. We had lots of compliments and everyone enjoyed the day.

What was your favourite part of the day?

For David, watching Janice walking up the aisle in her fabulous dress. For Janice, walking into the church, seeing all the family and friends and how the church had been decorated and most of all, David standing at the front waiting.

Any tips you learnt along the way which may be useful for other brides or what would you change?

Plan the day that you want and not what you think everyone else wants. Stay in close touch with any suppliers to make sure they know exactly what you want. While planning remember to take some time out away from wedding plans and just relax.
