Granary Barns Newmarket | Louise & Tom Rustic Barn Wedding

“When I fall in Love, It will be Forever” These are the words that are on the wall in the small cottage where Louise got ready to marry Tom in August at Granary Estates, Newmarket.  I couldn’t think of something more perfect for these two. They chose The Granary Barns Newmarket to be their wedding venue.  I hadn’t been there before so i met Louise one day before the wedding to look around.  It is beautiful, inside and out. I can see why they chose it.

Tom and the boys were getting ready at The Packhorse Inn where my assistant Tony met up with them.  It was a really hot, summers day. so i will forgive they guys for wearing their shades in some of the photos.

There seemed to be a standing joke about time keeping between Tom and Lou.  Unfortunately Tom was waiting in the barn for his bride to turn up, in a hot barn.  But i can honestly say it wasn’t Lou’s fault, she was there on time.

The service was emotional.  I had joked with the girls that the sign of a good wedding speech is if you can get the photographer laughing or crying then you know it’s great.  I hadn’t banked on crying during the ceremony too as loved ones were remembered.

As everyone sat down for the meal there was an announcement.  One person from each table had been chosen to be head chef and carver for their table.  Each guy arrived at the bar, slightly bemused as to what was occurring and was handed an apron and chefs hat. What a fantastic ice breaker.  I am sure some were better at it than others.

Lou had loved one of my photos of a Bride in a corn field with her veil flowing.  The week before their wedding the fields had been cut.  That didn’t phase me and we succeeded in a flowing veil shot in the beautiful gardens of The Granary Estates.

After the speeches we headed out to enjoy the setting sun and i think i took one of my all time favourite photographs of the year of Lou and Tom with the sun behind them.  They look so happy.  Congratulations to you both xx
