Anstey Hall Cambridge | Alison & Gary
If you have never been to Anstey Hall in Cambridge, then you should. As a Wedding Photographer in Cambridge, I adore it. There is the grandeur of the house, the eclectic treasure trove inside, the open gardens and the most exquisite Wisteria in the Spring time.
Alison and Gary married in February and it was rather chilly to say the least. Bex from Thairapy was helping Alison with hair and make-up during the morning in the fabulous Bridal Suite. I’ve known Bex a little while and was good to see her again. We were chatting away which helped calm Alison’s nerves a little as she wasn’t keen on photographs being taken.
I loved Alison’s wedding dress. Well it was a skirt and top with a little jacket over the top. Alison was 7 months pregnant by the time the wedding came round and the dress plan changed. I think it was just stunning, flowy and elegant.
Alison had made the cranes for the table placements and hand drawn all the animals on the table plan and table centers. I do love such personal touches to wedding days.
Gary was waiting in the Library for Alison so the ceremony could begin. I have to say i didn’t recognise him when he walked in as he had grown a beard since i last say him. It really suited him though.
The Ballroom upstairs was dressed for the reception which guests headed to after we braved outside for a few family photos. Sometimes the marquee is used for the wedding breakfast but today it was going to be used for dancing later. These guys had planned a Ceilidh. Now these are great fun and you can find me toe tapping along, but they are crazy to photograph.
Congratulations to you both.
