Adam & Kirsty | Wedding Highlights

Adam & Kirsty

Boy was the 24th August a hot day and blimey it was fun. Kirsty & Adam wanted their wedding to be captured in a relaxed storytelling way, and it’s exactly how it happened.

My assistant Rob met Adam at his parent’s house which was around the corner from the Church. Kirsty and the rest of the Bridal party were at the couples home.

The reception was a drive away and held in the loveliest village hall that I have seen for a while. Driving there I noticed fields with Hay bales and just knew we had to use the Suffolk countryside for some of the photos.

I just love the way the first dance was held outside, surrounded by candlelight with everyone watching. How romantic.

Congratulations guys x

In their own words

Who were your suppliers?

Flowers – The Flower Hut, Dress – Maggie Sottero – Shades of White, Hair – Mark Pattrick – Brides brother, Make up – Beauty by Abi, Suits – Chimneys, Cars – White Wedding Car Company, Wedding Cake – M&S, DJ – Wedding Party Events, Venue stylist – The Bride

Where you first meet

Adam played for the Bury Saints, a local American football team. I had been invited to go and watch a game by a work colleague and our eyes met across the sidelines, we smiled at each other, just as the team medic was putting an ice pack on his groin injury! After the game i went to the clubhouse for a drink, where he came in with some of the players, we started talking and the rest his history!

Who asked who and how

Adam took me away to Las Vegas for my birthday and a few days later he had planned a trip to the Grand Canyon, we flew in by helicopter and landed on this ridge, the view was breathtaking and I was snapping pictures and taking it all in and as I turned round, there he was on one knee holding the ring box, what made it more beautiful was the other four people we were with were the other side of the ridge, so this was our moment, it was wonderful.

Wedding planning, good, bad and fabulous

Good – Agreeing on everything, we have similar tastes, there wasn’t one thing one wanted that the other didn’t, also being able to make our own stuff, to make the wedding more personal was great, I am a crafter at heart and Adam has brilliant spray painting skills and a steady hand, this worked well! Bad – We had to cancel our original wedding plans so the wedding was pushed back a year, this was the most stressful as well had sent invites etc out, had things booked and paid for and having to move it all was hard, it also dragged the wedding process out a lot too! Fabulous – We did it! it all fell into place and we couldn’t have wished for a better day!

How was day through your eyes?

Beautiful, we were so lucky to have lovely weather, our closest friends and family with us and to have made the day what we wanted it to be, relaxed and happy.

What was your favourite part of the day

Adam – Getting to marry Kirsty. Kirsty – Our first dance, Adam had suggested we use our lanterns from our centerpieces and place them outside in a square for us to have our first dance to, it was so magical. Also getting some us time, when we went off with Liz and Rob and had our beautiful pictures of just us, we loved just having a moment to step back and it be just us.

Any tips you learnt along the way which may be useful for other brides

Make sure you have a moment to yourselves, the days is about you both and your love. Take as much in as possible, but also be aware you will not get to speak to everyone, it is a busy day! But most of all, enjoy it, it is true, it goes by quickly!
