There is something really exciting about visiting a wedding venue for the first time. I can only describe it as like waking up on Christmas morning, full of anticipation of what lies beneath the bottom of the tree. A new venue brings me the excitement of searching out locations to use. When Carrie and Chris got married in December I was in my element.
The morning started at Carrie's mums home. Such an adorable little cottage, wooden beams, open fire and a cheeky little squirrel in the garden. Carrie's sister opened to door and for a moment, i thought it was Carrie, they look so alike. It was quite a calm morning of pampering, until the rest of the Bridesmaids arrived. Then things get girlie, giggly and the excitement bubbles.
Chris was in the pub with boys when i arrived at the Church. I knew i had the right place as there was a HUGE truck parked right outside. Boys and their vehicles.
Being December you expect the weather to be a little bit drab. On this particular day there was fog, and rather a lot of it. Boy did it make for some great photos later in the day. The sun did peep out while some of the family photos were being taken.
Just down a little lane by the church in Thaxted is a Windmill. Carrie and Chris wanted some photos of the two of them by the windmill. What a fab place it is, built in 1804 and renovated beautifully. I can imagine how superb it would look on a day with a bright blue sky too.
I followed the now Mr & Mrs Newman in their huge truck to the reception venue of Colville Hall. Anyone in the Essex area looking for a wedding venue really should have a look here. It is just stunning, what a wonderful place.
Congratulations guys, your wedding was such a fun day, wellies, fog, wet feet, lots of smiles and loads of love. Thank you for letting me be a part of it. Liz x
