Are you sitting comfortably, because I'm about to take you on a whirlwind tour of some, not all, of my favourite wedding venues and tips on how to choose the one just right for you.
Choosing the place that you are going to get married in, or hold your reception in is a bit like moving house. You just know when you walk in, that this is the one for you.
Make a list of questions and things to think about.
Any Hidden Costs?
So just what is included at the venue? Table linen, table wear, how many canapes? Does your venues website give you details of the venue, prices, menus, availability and much more. Couples should be welcomed to visit for a personal tour and can sit down with one of the wedding planners who will talk you through all the elements of your day and provide an itemised costing for you.
Make it Yours
When you start planning you will have a vision in mind of what your day will look like. Check with your venue that you can install drapes, lights, flickering candle and all those personal touches that make your day, yours. Want a sparkler send off, better check you can.
Every couple is unique and individual, that's one of the reasons i love weddings so much. It's the personal touches that make a difference. Check with your venue that you will have a dedicated team or Event Manager that can deal with all your questions and requests not only during the day but in the run up to your day. You don't want to be stressing over little things, let them help you run the day smoothly so you can enjoy it.
Longstowe Hall, Cambridge
Many venues have a list of recommended suppliers, which can be great when you are starting out searching for people and services. Use this list to make a start but also use Google, Facebook and personal recommendations to get the suppliers that are right and will compliment you and your wedding. That perfect person or supplier may not be on your chosen venue's list.
