When a bride to be tells you that her bridesmaids are “Nana Dawson, Nana Plumb and Addy” and that Nana Dawson and Nana Plumb really are her grandmas (and very lovely ones at that) then you know it’s going to be a pretty special wedding. Then add to that the fact there won’t be any traditional wedding cars, the groom will arrive in a DeLorean and the bride in a Subaru and the wedding really does promise to be something completely different.
Abbie and Jamie’s wedding at Girton College, Cambridge certainly lived up to all expectations. The venue itself can only be described as stunning with its wood panelled rooms, book lined walls and stained glass windows. We certainly made the most of the beautiful space, the rain came down in the afternoon and cut short the photography but in such a gorgeous venue it really didn’t matter. We simply moved indoors and created some lovely romantic portraits of Abbie and Jamie in those grand old rooms.
The day was overflowing with fun, from oversized helium balloons and giant children’s games through to Abbie and Jamie’s first dance. And what a dance it was!! Just look at the fun they were having!
As a perfect end to the day the rain stopped, the sun peeped through and a rainbow appeared. We dashed outside for a few final pictures of Abbie and Jamie with the rainbow and an unexpectedly lovely sunset.
Thank you Abbie & Jamie, I loved every minute of your wonderful day. And an extra special thanks to the two Nanas for being such beautiful bridesmaids xx
