Last year my friend and talented photographer Kerry from KMS Photography asked me to second shoot a wedding with her in Leicestershire. I love working with Kerry and love visiting new and exciting venues, so of course i said yes.
I met up with Groom Alistair early at Breedon Hall where he had stayed the night with friends and family. They all looked very dapper in their RAF uniforms. Both Felicity and Alistair are in the RAF, and this is where they met.
The service was held in Felicity's parish church just a short drive from Breedon Hall. The guys were practicing their sword salute which is a tradition when the couple leave the church. They also held up the tradition of a little drop of Port before the ceremony, just the one, or maybe two!
Staunton Harold Hall was the reception venue, a stunning family run Georgian Mansion house. Guests were treated to picnic baskets and blankets on the lawn while they waited for the couple to arrive. Garden games of croquet and badminton were being enjoyed by all ages.
Now all weddings kind of follow the same plan during the day, ceremony, reception, speeches and dancing. Well this wedding dance will be one that i will always remember. I had been warned that something had been planned and oh boy had it! Fliss had had her dress altered so when entering the room it could be undone, fall to the floor to reveal a shimmering peacock blue skirt ready for dancing. Not just any dance, a full choreographed number that saw Fliss swinging through the air to 'Happy'. Wow, just wow, what a great ending.
