I’ve really been looking forward to sharing some of the photographs from Julia and Iain’s elegant country wedding at South Farm near Royston, after all it’s not every wedding where you get to photograph the bride with piglets!
Julia & Iain married at the end of July on a glorious sunny day, perfect weather for a wedding at a countryside farm venue. Whilst it’s traditional for the bride to be late for the wedding this almost happened in reverse after Iain was caught up in traffic. A quick phone call and disaster was averted and Julia had the luxury of some extra getting ready time with her sister and chief bridesmaid Jen.
The wedding ceremony was at Buckden Methodist Church and thankfully Iain and his best man and brother Neil, who had flown over from Australia, escaped the traffic and arrived before Julia. After a lovely ceremony it was off to South Farm to continue the day with a reception in the barn.
South Farm is a wonderful venue, the wedding co-ordinator Ali makes sure everything runs smoothly, it’s a stunning location for photographs and there’s lots of space for the children to play too. There are gypsy caravans as guest accommodation, stunning grounds and meadows, a tuk tuk to travel around in and of course those cute little piglets. We made the most of the venue for the photographs although we had to leave the piglets once they started trying to eat Julia’s shoes!
The wedding celebrations continued with wonderful food and a very quirky wedding cake. Julia and Iain met while on holiday on safari and Mr Cake made an amazing safari themed wedding cake with a giraffe bride and groom on top.
Thank you so much for letting me photograph your wedding Julia & Iain xx
