I’m so excited to be sharing some of the photographs from Sara and Jamie’s Longstowe Hall wedding on the blog today. Sara and Jamie are a lovely couple who have been together since they were at school and they certainly weren’t going to let a few rain showers spoil their big day!
The wedding had an elegant floral theme and was full of fun. The laughter started when Sara was getting ready with bridesmaids Sian and Hannah and continued through the day. Umbrellas and wellingtons were on hand but fortunately the rain held off for Sara and the girls to walk to the ceremony area where Jamie was waiting with best man Jack and the rest of guests. My assistant Vicki had spent the morning with the boys. After the ceremony the fun and laughter continued when the tradition of throwing confetti was replaced by the guests blowing bubbles!
Longstowe Hall is a beautiful venue near Cambridge and a wedding photographer’s dream, the grounds are beautiful with extensive gardens and a lake and even though the weather didn't stay dry for the outdoor photographs the staff also kindly allowed Sara and Jamie to use the gorgeous ballroom for some romantic portraits.
The marquee was beautifully decorated and provided the perfect setting for the fun and celebrations to continue throughout the rest of the day and into the night. I loved the sunglasses, brilliant. I think they guests did too judging by all the selfies. Before the meal one person from each table was called up and handed an apron. They were set the task to serve the meat for everyone's dinner. What a great ice breaker that was. I think there may have been a couple of budding Jamie Oliver's in the room too.
Thank you Sara & Jamie, I loved being a part of your wonderful wedding day, Liz x
